Studio No1, Cockermouth, The Lakes

Absolute shambles Positive: The town was quite nice. The bathroom (albeit mouldy) was quite modern. Negative: The bed springs were poking entirely out. There was a lot of mould in the fan and some in the shower (terrible for my asthma). The carpets were sticky and dirty as were the appliances and kitchen flooring. There was dog urine all over the curtains separating the entrance door to the room, Iunderstand it is dog friendly accommodationbut my dogs wouldn't do that and not cleaning it is atrocious, and expecting us to accept that is beyond abysmal. Speaking of the entrance door, the wall was cracked all the way through and the wooden frame falling apart from rot, one good kick and it would have gone through. I have pictures to show this. No idea how to contact for a refund. Would not recommend to anyone.

Positive: A fairly big room with good facilities. Very good location for us Negative: Shame it’s on a busy road but that’s out of the owners hands. The front of the property was very scruffy and the litter was piled up. A lot of bins which very a bit unsightly.

Negative: Had to phone for door code (but no big deal). Car park ticket machine accepted cash on first night - but had to pay online for second night's parking (again, no big deal though).

Great location for our trip. Positive: Bed was very comfortable, bedding and towels clean, great hot shower. Kitchen well equipped. Negative: Carpet dirty looking, noisy with traffic, kitchen tired, bathroom shelf looked unhygienic

Positive: We had a wonderful stay! The flat had everything we needed during our stay. The location was perfect, close to the Lakes, close to the seaside, to the grocery shop and cafes. Negative: The cleaning staff forgot to clean the oven ;)
